Welcome...

August, 2009

Recent editorial projects have taken us to Colombia (Cartagena), Russia (St. Petersburg), Sweden (Stockholm) and Denmark (Copenhagen), as well as the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We'll be posting images soon in our New Work gallery.

Under the Portfolio section of our web site, we invite you to visit Galleries I and II, which feature our personal work. In Gallery I, Charles includes a few of his favorite places, portraits, and still lifes. In Gallery II, Mary Herbert shares her botanicals, plus images of the people of Bhutan, a small country in the Himalayas, which has only recently opened up to tourism.

The book, Steichen's Legacy, is one of our favorites. Both the text (by Steichen's wife, Joanna) and the selection of images pay tribute to a remarkable career.

Among our favorite contemporary photographers is Flor Garduno. Originally from Mexico, she now lives in Switzerland. Her still lifes and images of women are symbolic and provocative. We own several of her prints.

Another favorite, photojournalist Sebastiao Salgado, will be offering limited edition platinum prints from his new body of work, Genesis, which focuses on the world's last unspoiled places.

Incidentally, we are still trying to find the "perfect" Mapplethorpe flower image--if anyone you know is selling a print, let us know.
